Disulfiram (Antabuse) discourages alcohol use by causing unpleasant symptoms when a person drinks alcohol while taking it. Naltrexone (ReVia) decreases alcohol use by reducing the pleasurable effects of alcohol and cravings. Acamprosate (Campral) decreases alcohol use by reducing cravings.
